Dear Camper,

Thanks a million for a kick-ass party this last Friday at Camp X Rialto. It was great to see so many people at the opening of Camp X’s theater-bar ‘Camp 22:30’. The next one is scheduled for Friday the 2nd of November, and we are looking forward to seeing you again, or for the very first time. Some of the highlights of the night’s program will be NACHBerlin with a ‘Queer Catwalk’, The Buffalo Needles, and a drag show with Sandra Day Tusnelda (Svend Bunch) og Lille Knudsen on the piano.

Public  X: Bruce LaBruce

And then there is the Public X event on Saturday the 20th October, where Camp X will be presenting Bruce LaBruce from 2:00-3:30.

The Canadian avant-garde artist and film director has promised to bring a little preview of his new zombie-homo film to our intimate interview at Camp X Rialto. Anyone curious to meet the man can attend this Public X event this Saturday the 20th of October at 2:00pm. We will be showing clips from his films, and hear why he believes that a combination of punk, porno, and politics can be a necessary, revolutionary, artistic project.

You can sign up for this event for free at: publicx@campx.dk.

XLOG
Xlog is Camp X’s blog (web-log.) This past week, the XLOG has had a running start with an array of thoughtful and engaged commentaries. The blog has been highlighted in the media (among others, Information on the 10/11 and Berlingske Tidende 10/15.) Especially our Curator, Ditte Maria Bjerg’s post “kuratortømmermænd efter ‘Queer’ –premiere” (A curatorial hangover after ‘Queer’ opening)  has stirred up opinion and brought a new clarity to the role of the Curator. Director Mette Hvid Davidsen sums up in her post “Åbenhed – en farlig sag” (Openness - a dangerous affair):

“...How do we initiate the useful exchange of opinions in a way where we grow wiser on the development of the theatre? Wiser on how we talk about our own work, on the experience of the audience and maybe also wiser on why it is so dangerous to communicate openly ..."

The rest can be read on the XLOG. (Although unfortunately only in Danish).

One thing is certain, and that is that we are were pleased with the active reflection that has occurred on the blog and we look forward to further debates in the future.

We look forward to meeting you face-to-face, and in the theatre...

Best Wishes,

Karen Toftegaard
