Exchange in a GloCal World
A symposium with lectures, dialogues, debates, performances and artist talks – with some of the most visionary European theatre leaders, creators and entrepreneurs.
Theatre is often defined by a local here and now and by territorial borders. This even though we all live more and more global lives. Lives where climate, crisis and wars irreversibly bit by bit have demolished the notion of nations as anything else but cultural heritage and historic.
How are we to design the conditions for the future glocal theatre?
- In what ways can the future art institutions be structured in order to be a local global actor
- Which strategies are available and which can be created for a global theatre working in a local community?
- Under which terms and conditions can artists act on the global stage?
- How does the European contemporary theatre relate and deal with global themes?
- Why is theatre arts often defined by territorial borders, when music, film, literature and fine arts are not?
- How can we create true international theatre, and not just trans-national economic cooperation?
